Vuorelainenite from Sätra, Sweden – small cabinet specimen as unique piece
This small cabinet specimen displays massive Vuorelainenite with metallic luster and a typical dark brown to bronze colored surface. Granular to compact areas with slightly reflective sections are visible in places, giving the specimen a distinctive ore appearance. Individual crystals are not clearly developed, but the characteristic mineral structure of this rare sulfide is well visible.
Geology & Origin
Vuorelainenite is a very rare sulfide mineral belonging to the tin and arsenic mineral group. Only a small number of localities for this mineral are known worldwide. The occurrence at Sätra in Sweden belongs to the classic Scandinavian ore regions with complex sulfide mineralizations. Due to its rarity, Vuorelainenite is especially attractive for specialized collectors and enthusiasts of unusual ore minerals.
