Tourmaline crystal/crystals; Namibia; 100 g

Black Tourmaline from Namibia as a mixture of single crystals and crystal groups, showing characteristic prismatic growth and distinct longitudinal striations. The pieces vary in shape and size and may partly be coated or intergrown with light-colored accompanying minerals. Supplied as 100 g. Picture shows sample.

Geology & Origin

Tourmaline commonly forms in granitic pegmatites and hydrothermally influenced rocks, where boron-rich residual melts and fluids create suitable conditions for crystal growth. Namibia contains numerous well-known pegmatite deposits that have produced various Tourmalines and well-developed crystals.
