Geology & Origin
Topaz is a fluorine bearing aluminium silicate belonging to the nesosilicate group and is among the classic gemstones used in jewelry and collections. It forms mainly in pegmatitic and hydrothermal environments where transparent crystals can develop under suitable geological conditions. Brazil is one of the world’s most important sources for high quality Topaz and produces material with especially clear transparency and attractive coloration.
