Topaz from Brandberg, Namibia – 100 g

This 100 g selection consists of natural Topaz from Brandberg, Namibia. The pieces show predominantly pale, transparent to translucent colours ranging from nearly colourless to pale greenish and slightly yellowish tones, occasionally with natural inclusions and brownish surface material. Size, shape, transparency and colour may vary within each selection. 

Geology & Origin

Topaz is an aluminium fluorosilicate that forms, among other environments, in granitic pegmatites and hydrothermally influenced rocks. The Brandberg region of Namibia is known for various mineral-rich pegmatites and hydrothermal mineralization. Topaz can occur there together with other minerals typical of pegmatitic environments.
