Stilbite and Heulandite crystals from the Herbornseelbach Quarry, Lahn Dill Area, Germany – miniature specimen as unique piece

This attractive collector specimen from the Herbornseelbach quarry features a rich association of Stilbite and Heulandite. The cavities of the specimen are lined with numerous well visible crystals that create a lively and highly detailed surface. Particularly striking are the pale to slightly yellow crystal aggregates, which stand out beautifully against the matrix. Crystals are clearly developed and provide an appealing combination of transparency, luster, and crystal form.

Geology & Origin

Stilbite and Heulandite belong to the zeolite group and typically form in cavities within volcanic or hydrothermally altered rocks. The Lahn-Dill district is one of Germany’s classic localities for zeolite minerals. The Herbornseelbach quarry is well known among collectors for its diverse zeolite assemblages, where numerous crystal forms developed within fractures and cavities. The combination of Stilbite and Heulandite is an excellent example of mineral growth processes within such environments and makes specimens like this highly desirable collector pieces.
