Ruby faceted; 2–6 mm; various shapes; Burma; 1 piece
Faceted Ruby in various shapes, 2-6 mm, from Burma – 1 piece
This faceted Ruby from Burma (Myanmar) comes from one of the world’s most renowned sources of highly saturated, vivid-red rubies. The pieces range from 2 to 6 mm and appear in various shapes – mostly oval, round, or slightly modified forms – each with its own character. The strong pinkish-red to deep ruby-red coloration, very typical of Burmese material, is clearly visible here. Fine natural inclusions highlight the gemstone’s authenticity. Each piece is well suited for delicate jewelry work or for adding to a gemstone collection.
Geology & Origin
Burma (Myanmar) hosts some of the most famous ruby deposits in the world, including Mogok and Mong Hsu. These gems form in metamorphic rocks, often in marble-related environments where chromium produces the rich red coloration. Burmese rubies are known for their vibrant tones and bright internal reflections. This specimen shows the hallmark traits of this origin in a faceted form, offering the classic quality appreciated by collectors and jewelry makers alike.
