Rhodizite crystals from Madagascar, Gerd Tremmel collection –  miniature specimen as unique piece

Rhodizite Crystals on this miniature specimen display a compact, blocky habit with yellowish to honey colored tones and a dull to slightly vitreous surface. Individual crystal faces are partially visible, but the Crystals are mostly intergrown and not fully free standing. Nevertheless, the crystalline nature is clearly recognizable due to the angular morphology and the characteristic color of the mineral. The specimen is attached to matrix and represents a classic, authentic collector example.

Geology & Origin

Rhodizite is a rare borate mineral that typically forms in granitic pegmatites, commonly associated with other lithium and boron rich minerals. Madagascar is one of the most important localities worldwide for Rhodizite, where the mineral crystallizes under specific geochemical conditions within pegmatitic environments. Specimens from the Gerd Tremmel collection additionally carry significant historical and scientific value.
