Geology & origin
The Iron Cap Mine in Arizona is known for its diverse Quartz assemblages within hydrothermally altered zones. Rock Crystal forms here in cavities of quartz-rich veins, often accompanied by sulfides or iron oxide coatings. This locality regularly yields smaller but highly transparent and well-formed crystal specimens for collectors.
