Pyromorphite crystals fom Longkamp, Hunsrück, Germany – micromount as unique specimen

This micromount features numerous fine Pyromorphite crystals on a contrasting matrix. The crystals display warm yellow to honey-brown colours with a bright lustre and are set on a light, finely crystalline matrix with brown ore-rich areas. The balanced combination of colours and the clearly visible crystals makes this specimen an attractive addition to any micromount collection.

Geology & Origin

Longkamp in the Hunsrück region is one of Germany's classic localities for secondary lead minerals. Pyromorphite formed through the weathering of lead-bearing ore veins, where phosphate-rich solutions produced the characteristic hexagonal crystals. Specimens from this locality are highly valued by collectors for their well-formed crystals and historical significance.
