This micromount features vivid yellowish-green Pyromorphite crystals with an intense vitreous lustre. The well-formed prismatic crystals are distinguished by their vibrant colour and sharp crystal faces. This single specimen stands out for its excellent crystal development and is an outstanding addition to any micromount collection of fine secondary minerals.
Geology & Origin
The Daoping Mine in Gongcheng, Guangxi, is one of the world's most famous localities for exceptional Pyromorphite specimens. The crystals formed as secondary lead minerals within the oxidation zone of a hydrothermal lead-zinc deposit. This locality is internationally renowned for producing beautifully developed, intensely coloured Pyromorphite crystals and is regarded as one of the finest Pyromorphite localities in the world.
