Purpurite; washed!; Sandanab, Namibia; 1 lot with 55 pieces; unique
Purpurite from Sandamab, Namibia – 1 unique lot with 55 pieces.
This substantial lot consists of 55 hand-selected specimens featuring vibrant violet to purple Purpurite on light brown to ochre matrix. All pieces have been washed, which enhances the strong coloration characteristic of this mineral. Many specimens display matte to silky surfaces with natural texture and occasional metallic luster. Some show zoned patterns or vividly contrasting fracture surfaces.
Purpurite is a manganese-rich phosphate mineral from the lithiophilite–triphylite series, formed as a secondary product in weathered pegmatites. The Sandamab locality in Namibia is one of the most renowned sources worldwide, known for producing specimens with intense color. This lot is ideal for color mineral collectors, educational purposes, or further mineralogical processing.
