This unique flat contains numerous Pollucite specimens from Paprok in Nuristan, Afghanistan. The pieces predominantly show colourless to slightly beige or smoky, transparent to translucent crystals and crystal aggregates in different sizes and forms. In addition to many smaller specimens, several considerably larger pieces are included, showing different formations of Pollucite. The complete flat shown in the pictures is offered as a unique lot.
Geology & Origin
Paprok in Nuristan, Afghanistan, is one of the well-known pegmatite localities of the region. Pollucite is a cesium-rich silicate that typically forms in highly evolved granitic pegmatites, where it may occur together with other rare minerals. The pegmatites of Nuristan are known for their complex mineralization and wide variety of rare-element minerals. The specimens in this flat document different crystal and aggregate formations of Pollucite from this classic Afghan pegmatite region.
