Geology & Origin
Peridot is the gemstone variety of the mineral Olivine and is among the few gemstones that occur exclusively in shades of green. The mineral forms in volcanic igneous rocks and may also occur in material originating from the Earth’s upper mantle. Arizona is one of the best known localities for high quality Peridot and produces material with especially intense coloration and good transparency. The offered faceted specimens show the typical appearance of polished Peridot in gemstone quality.
Application Note
The stone is well suited for jewelry creations such as rings pendants earrings or fine collector pieces. Despite its suitability for jewelry faceted Peridot should be protected from strong impacts and stored carefully.
