Orpiment crystals from the Shimen Mine, Changde, Hunan Province, China – micromount as unique piece

This micromount features strikingly developed Auripigment crystals from the Shimen Mine near Changde, Hunan Province, China. The vivid orange yellow to reddish Auripigment crystals are clearly developed and rise prominently from the darker matrix. Their prismatic to tabular crystal habit combined with strong luster gives the specimen a vivid and almost radiant appearance. The strong contrast between the intensely colored crystals and the fine grained matrix makes this an especially attractive micromount with high aesthetic appeal.
