Arsenopyrite crystals from Panasqueira, Portugal, Gerd Tremmel collection – small cabinet specimen as unique piece

This small cabinet specimen features distinctly developed Arsenopyrite crystals from the renowned Panasqueira locality in Portugal, from the Gerd Tremmel collection. The silvery, metallic crystals form densely stacked, sharply edged aggregates with a strong metallic luster and clearly defined crystalline structure. Their layered arrangement and reflective surfaces create a powerful and highly characteristic appearance that perfectly represents Arsenopyrite from this classic locality.

Geology & Origin

The Panasqueira mine in central Portugal is one of the world’s most important hydrothermal tin and tungsten deposits. Arsenopyrite forms here together with quartz and various sulfides in steeply dipping veins influenced by granitic intrusions. The locality is internationally recognized for producing exceptionally well-developed Arsenopyrite crystals and has supplied high-quality collector specimens for decades.
