Hyalite with Schorl Crystals and Smoky Quartz from Erongo, Namibia – 1 flat.

This assorted flat offers a diverse selection of mineral specimens from the renowned Erongo region in Namibia. Clear hyalite appears as globular or film-like coatings and displays a strong green fluorescence under UV light. The material is accompanied by black schorl crystals (tourmaline) and slender to prismatic smoky quartz crystals – some specimens show all three minerals in paragenesis.

The Erongo Mountains are internationally recognized for producing fine-quality tourmalines, quartz varieties, and secondary silicates. Hyalite from this locality is especially prized for its vivid UV response. The specimens in this flat were selected from various pits within the volcanic complex.
