Azurite pseudomorph after Rosasite crystals from the Silver Bill Mine, AZ, USA– minature size as a unique piece

An exceptional micromount featuring mint-green Azurite pseudomorphs after Rosasite on brown matrix. Especially striking are the radial aggregates resembling rosettes, which contrast beautifully with the porous texture of the host rock. This collector’s specimen originates from the renowned Silver Bill Mine in Arizona, a classic locality of the Bisbee region.

Geology & origin

The Silver Bill Mine near Bisbee, Arizona, is one of the historically significant copper deposits in the USA. In the oxidation zones of such deposits, attractive secondary minerals like Rosasite can form, which under specific conditions are replaced by Azurite. These pseudomorphs are impressive evidence of complex mineral transformation processes, where color, shape, and crystal form are preserved while the chemical composition changes.
