Agrellite (UV-active) from Canada – small cabinet specimen as unique piece

This unique piece features a crystalline aggregate of Agrellite on a light gray matrix. The mineral appears in pale gray to creamy white tones with a clearly visible fibrous texture. Under UV light, Agrellite exhibits a distinct fluorescence, adding to the specimen’s appeal. Presented as a small cabinet specimen, it is well-suited for both systematic collections and enthusiasts of fluorescent minerals.

The specimen comes from the Kipawa River area in Quebec, Canada, a world-renowned locality for rare minerals in alkaline rocks. Agrellite is a rare silicate mineral that crystallizes in the triclinic system. It typically occurs in fibrous to prismatic aggregates and is easily recognized by its strong UV activity. Specimens of this type are highly sought after due to the locality’s limited production and the difficulty of extraction.
