Muscovite crystals from the Stak Nala Mine, Haramosh, Pakistan – small cabinet specimen as unique piece

This small cabinet specimen features Muscovite crystals from the Stak Nala Mine near Haramosh, Pakistan. The pale beige to silvery shimmering Muscovite crystals form dense rosette like aggregates with a clearly developed platy structure. The individual crystal plates display the typical pearly luster of Muscovite and appear partly transparent to translucent. The intergrown crystal layers create an aesthetic appearance with vivid surface textures and attractive light reflections.

Geology & origin

The Stak Nala Mine in the Haramosh area of Pakistan is one of the well known localities for alpine pegmatite minerals in the Karakoram region. Numerous mineral species such as Muscovite, feldspars, tourmalines and aquamarines formed there within granitic pegmatite veins through the slow crystallization of residual magmatic melts. The region is world famous for its high quality crystal finds and has produced important collector specimens from the high mountain areas of northern Pakistan for decades.
