Mixed minerals from Gila River Wilderness, Grant County, NM, USA, Gerd Tremmel collection, 1980 – 1 unique half size flat
This half size flat contains a selected assortment of rare minerals from the Gila River Wilderness in Grant County, New Mexico, originating from the Gerd Tremmel collection of 1980. The pieces mainly display massive, fine-grained and partially porous structures with white to cream-coloured mineral aggregates on dark matrix. Their varying textures and intergrowths reflect the complex geological conditions characteristic of this classic US locality.
Geology & Origin
The Gila River Wilderness belongs to a volcanically influenced region shaped by extensive hydrothermal activity, which produced a diverse mineralisation in cavities and fracture zones of the host rocks. The specimens in this flat illustrate the formation of fine to compact mineral aggregates and provide an authentic impression of the geochemical diversity found in this important locality of the American Southwest.
The flat shown in the pictures will be shipped with the corresponding box and, if applicable, folding boxes. These may be partially used, show signs of wear, and have multiple labels or markings.
