2.08 carat faceted and untreated kyanite, 9.5 x 6 mm from Africa – unique piece
This faceted unique piece of untreated Kyanite with 2.08 carat measures 9.5 x 6 mm and displays an intense deep blue coloration with vivid light reflections. The faceted surfaces give the stone a striking brilliance and beautifully emphasize the characteristic color effect of natural Kyanite. With its elongated rectangular shape and strong transparency, this specimen has an elegant and high quality appearance.
Geology & origin
Kyanite is an aluminium rich silicate mineral that forms under high pressure conditions in metamorphic rocks. Characteristic features of Kyanite include its mostly blue coloration and its directional hardness, which makes it especially interesting from a mineralogical perspective. African localities produce high quality Kyanites with intense color and good transparency that are especially suitable for faceted gemstones. This specimen displays the typical characteristics of untreated faceted Kyanite in a particularly vivid form.
Application note
The stone is highly suitable for exclusive jewelry creations such as rings, pendants, or individual collector’s pieces. Due to its natural structure, faceted Kyanite should be protected from strong impacts and handled with care.
