Krutaite and Klockmannite etc. (polished section, analyzed) from Mina el Dragon, Bolivia – miniature specimen as unique piece

This small cabinet specimen consists of a prepared polished section containing Krutaite, Klockmannite and additional associated minerals. The polished surface clearly reveals the different gray to metallic-looking mineral areas and their intergrowths within the specimen. The material has been analyzed and originates from the Mina El Dragón in Bolivia. This is a unique specimen.

Geology & Origin

The Mina El Dragón in Bolivia is a mineralogically significant selenium deposit particularly known for rare selenide minerals. Krutaite is a copper selenide, while Klockmannite is another copper selenide with a characteristic metallic appearance. Polished sections of such specimens are especially suitable for examining the fine-grained intergrowths of the different ore minerals.
