Heliophyllite crystals from Pacha Limani, Laurion, Greece – miniature specimen as a unique piece

This miniature specimen shows small, dark gray to black Heliophyllite crystals with a local sheen on a gray matrix. Pale silvery-gray areas contrast with the darker, porous cavities. Its irregular surface and varied textures can be viewed from several angles.

Geology & Origin

Pacha Limani is part of the Laurion mining district in Greece and is known for its ancient slags. Weathering of the lead-rich slag and its interaction with seawater can produce secondary minerals in the area. Heliophyllite is no longer considered a separate mineral species and is now listed as a synonym of Ecdemite; the label uses the older name.
