The variety of structures, colors and growth forms makes this flat a particularly harmonious and diverse selection from this classic German locality.
Geology & Origin
Mäusetal near Sondershausen is part of the well-known Zechstein evaporite complex of Thuringia. Gypsum and selenite crystals formed there through the hydration of anhydrite in moist, sulfate-rich environments within karstified evaporite rocks. Typical specimens display clear to yellowish hues, elongated crystals and perfect cleavage. This flat showcases these characteristic growth forms in impressive diversity, illustrating the geological processes of the Thuringian evaporite region in a particularly vivid manner.
The flat shown in the pictures will be shipped with the corresponding box and, if applicable, folding boxes. These may be partially used, show signs of wear, and have multiple labels or markings.
