Guerinite and Pharmacolite crystals from Wechselschacht, Richelsdorf, Germany, Gerd Tremmel collection– small cabinet specimen as unique piece
This attractive small cabinet specimen displays a visually striking paragenesis of Guerinite and Pharmacolite on matrix. Large areas of the surface are covered with delicate pink to more intense rose-colored coatings, giving the specimen its characteristic appearance.
Among the pink zones, numerous fine and clearly visible crystals are developed. Particularly notable are the acicular to prismatic, whitish translucent Pharmacolite crystals, occurring in small sprays and radial aggregates. Guerinite is also present in crystalline form, contributing to the complex and lively surface texture. The crystals are distinctly formed and can be well differentiated under magnification.
Geology & Origin
The Wechselschacht at Richelsdorf in Hesse is a classic locality for secondary arsenate minerals in Germany. The mineralization is related to the weathering of arsenic-bearing ores within the historic copper and cobalt deposits of the Richelsdorf district.
Guerinite and Pharmacolite form there as secondary minerals through oxidation processes and the reaction of arsenic-rich solutions with calcium and other elements in the host rock. Specimens from this region are mineralogically significant and highly appreciated by collectors for their characteristic and often intensely colored crystal formations.
This table is for general information and orientation, although the sizes of the stones may vary. In addition, this specification is handled differently from region to region.
