Aegirine, Quartz and Feldspar crystals from Mount Malosa, Zomba, Malawi – 1 unique flat.
This lot contains 20 characteristic mineral specimens from the well-known Mount Malosa locality in Malawi. The pieces feature sharply formed, often prismatic to acicular aegirine crystals in association with quartz – ranging from clear single crystals to compact groups – and feldspar-rich matrix in tones of beige and light brown. Some specimens also show secondary coatings or zoned structures that enhance the visual appeal of the assemblages.
Mount Malosa in Zomba District is a classic source for minerals from alkaline rock environments and is renowned for its aesthetically striking combinations. Aegirine forms here together with quartz and feldspar in pegmatitic parageneses that are both mineralogically and visually distinctive. This flat showcases the diversity of this locality in collectible quality.
