Grape Agate from Indonesia– small cabinet specimen as unique piece
This small cabinet specimen displays an exceptionally beautiful botryoidal surface in delicate violet and pink hues. Geology & Origin
Grape Agate – also known as botryoidal chalcedony – forms from silica deposition out of hydrothermal solutions within cavities of volcanic rocks. In Indonesia, several localities have recently become known for producing chalcedony specimens of exceptional color and delicate form. The violet shades are influenced by traces of manganese and iron incorporated during mineral formation.
