This cabinet specimen features Gasparite-(Ce) as small crystals and mineral inclusions within a light gray to white, fine-grained matrix. Geology & Origin
Gasparite-(Ce) is a rare cerium-rich arsenate mineral belonging to the monazite group. The Binn Valley in the Swiss canton of Valais is one of the most mineralogically significant regions of the Alps and is particularly renowned for its exceptional diversity of rare mineral species. Cherbadung is one of the classic mineralogical localities of this region.
