Geology & Origin

Fukalite is a rare calcium-bearing silicate-carbonate mineral typically found in contact-metamorphosed limestones and skarn mineralization. Fuka in Okayama Prefecture is an important Japanese locality for unusual calcium minerals formed in association with the thermal alteration of carbonate-rich rocks.
