This miniature specimen displays Fluorite crystals in the characteristic “snowball” formation on a gray matrix. The pale, finely developed crystal aggregates occur in small cavities in the rock and form compact, rounded groups.

Geology & Origin

Aris near Windhoek, Namibia, is a well-known locality for diverse mineralization associated with alkaline rocks. Fluorite can crystallize here from mineral-rich solutions within cavities and fissures, forming a variety of crystal habits and aggregates.
