Fluorite crystals from the Mönchhof Quarry at Hoher Meißner in Hesse, Germany – 1 unique flat
This collection features various Fluorite specimens with predominantly deep violet crystals from the Mönchhof Quarry at Hoher Meißner in Hesse, Germany. The crystals are typically clustered on light-colored host rock, occasionally accompanied by sparkling edges or minor associated minerals. The coloration ranges from intense violet to near-black hues – a typical hallmark of this classic locality.
Hoher Meißner is one of Germany’s most renowned sources of Fluorite. The mineral, a calcium fluoride, occurs here in hydrothermal veins formed by hot fluids in fissures and fractures of the surrounding rock. The Mönchhof Quarry represents one of the few remaining accessible localities in this region. This flat offers a representative selection of crystalline Fluorite specimens in matrix, illustrating the characteristic appearance of the site.
The flat shown in the pictures will be shipped with the corresponding box and, if applicable, folding boxes. These may be partially used, show signs of wear, and have multiple labels or markings.
