Geology & Origin

Crestmore Quarry in Riverside County, California, is a classic mineral locality particularly known for its contact-metamorphosed limestones and exceptionally diverse mineralization. The interaction of carbonate-rich rocks with magmatic intrusions under high temperatures produced complex mineral assemblages containing numerous rare mineral species. Fluorellestadite belongs to the apatite group and occurs at this locality within the contact-metamorphic mineralization.
