Fluorellestadite from Bellerberg, Eifel, Germany – micromount as unique piece

This micromount displays Fluorellestadite in a distinctive greenish mineralization with a fine-grained to crystalline surface. The pale to vivid green areas contrast clearly with the brownish and gray portions of the small matrix specimen.

Geology & Origin

Bellerberg in the Eifel region of Germany is a classic locality for volcanic minerals and is known for its exceptionally diverse mineralization. Fluorellestadite is a rare calcium silicate sulfate of the apatite group and occurs at Bellerberg as part of mineral assemblages associated with volcanic processes.
