Geology & Origin
Salmchâteau in the Belgian Ardennes is a well-known locality for rare phosphate and rare-earth minerals. Florencite-(Ce) formed through hydrothermal processes and the alteration of phosphate-rich rocks, with cerium being the dominant rare-earth element in the mineral. Specimens from this locality are highly appreciated by micromount collectors due to their rarity.
