This micromount displays Fizélyite crystals on a dark, metallic-lustrous matrix. The fine crystals occur in small areas and, under magnification, show the metallic luster characteristic of this rare silver-antimony sulfosalt.

Geology & Origin

Bärberg near St. Andreasberg in the Harz Mountains, Germany, belongs to the historic mining district of this mineralogically significant region. Its hydrothermal ore mineralization is known for various silver, antimony, and sulfosalt minerals, including Fizélyite.
