Embedded Ferrierite crystals from Kamloops, BC, Canada – small cabinet specimen as unique piece

The cabinet specimen shows embedded Ferrierite crystals within a pale beige to honey-yellow matrix. Particularly noticeable are the white to cream-colored, fan-shaped and radiating crystal aggregates extending across a larger area of the surface. Orange to reddish-orange areas appear in the central section, while the surrounding matrix displays an irregular, partly rounded texture with scattered dark inclusions. The specimen originates from Kamloops in British Columbia, Canada, and is offered as a unique specimen.

Geology & Origin

Ferrierite belongs to the zeolite mineral group and is a hydrated aluminosilicate. The mineral forms primarily through hydrothermal processes and the alteration of volcanic rocks at relatively low temperatures. Ferrierite crystals may develop in cavities, fractures, and pores within the host rock, often associated with other zeolite minerals. The Kamloops region of British Columbia is characterized by extensive volcanic rock formations in which hydrothermal fluids have contributed to the formation of various secondary minerals.
