Geology & Origin

Ferberite is an iron-rich tungsten oxide of the Wolframite series and forms primarily in hydrothermal veins and in association with granitic intrusions. The historic Silverton mining district in Colorado is known for its extensive hydrothermal ore systems and diverse mineralization.
