Geology & Origin
Euxenite is a complex oxide mineral that may contain niobium, tantalum, titanium, yttrium, and other rare-earth elements. It characteristically occurs as an accessory mineral in granitic pegmatites and is frequently metamict due to natural radioactive processes. Madagascar is known for numerous mineral-rich pegmatite occurrences containing a variety of rare Nb-Ta and rare-earth minerals.
