This thumbnail specimen features numerous Euclase crystals in pale, nearly colorless to delicate greenish-blue shades. The transparent to translucent crystals are closely intergrown and display well-developed crystal faces with a vitreous luster. The specimen originates from Equador, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, and is offered as a unique piece.
Geology & Origin
Euclase is a rare beryllium aluminium silicate that occurs primarily in granitic pegmatites and associated hydrothermally altered zones. Brazil is known for several important Euclase occurrences, particularly in regions rich in pegmatites. Rio Grande do Norte in northeastern Brazil is one of the country's classic pegmatite regions and is known for its diverse mineral assemblages.
