The specimen originates from Kopeysk in the Ural region of Russia and is offered as a unique piece.
Geology & Origin
Esseneite is a rare calcium- and iron-bearing mineral of the pyroxene group that can form under unusual high-temperature conditions. Occurrences are known from strongly thermally altered rocks and contact-metamorphic environments. Kopeysk in the southern Urals is known for unusual mineral formations associated with rocks thermally altered by coal fires.
