Geology & Origin
Englishite is a rare hydrous potassium-calcium-aluminum phosphate that occurs as a secondary mineral in phosphate-rich pegmatites. The Tip Top Mine in the Black Hills of South Dakota is a well-known granitic pegmatite locality, particularly noted for its diverse phosphate mineralization and numerous rare mineral species.
