This lot consists of 16 different micromount specimens from classic collecting localities in the Eifel region, including Brenk, Üdersdorf and Emmelberg. The specimens show a varied mixture of dark volcanic rocks, lighter mineral areas, small crystal surfaces and different associated minerals. Some pieces display clearly recognizable crystalline areas, while others are more compact or fine-grained in appearance. The selection offers a diverse micromount lot with varying colors, forms and mineral associations. Each lot contains 16 micromount specimens. The picture shows a sample.

Geology & Origin

The Eifel is one of Germany’s best-known mineralogical regions and is particularly characterized by its volcanic history. Numerous different minerals formed in volcanic rocks, slags, tuffs and ejecta, including rare species that often occur in small cavities and fissures. Localities such as Breuk, Üdersdorf and Emmelberg are especially well known among collectors for their diverse mineral assemblages. Micromount specimens are particularly suitable for observing the often millimeter-sized crystals and fine mineral formations from these localities under a magnifier or microscope.
