Efremovite and Boussingaultite crystals from Kladno, Czech Republic –  micromount as unique piece

This micromount specimen with Efremovite and Boussingaultite crystals from Kladno, Czech Republic, represents a rare and mineralogically interesting occurrence of two unusual sulfate minerals. The specimen consists of a brownish to beige matrix with embedded crystalline areas representing both minerals.

The crystals are finely developed and mostly appear as compact, partly granular to slightly fibrous aggregates within the matrix. Individual crystal forms are small, but the crystalline nature is still recognizable. The combination of both minerals in a single specimen makes it especially collectible, even though the crystal development is rather subtle.

Geology & Origin

Kladno is known for complex secondary mineral formations, often associated with coal bearing and sulfate rich environments. Efremovite and Boussingaultite are rare sulfate minerals that form under specific chemical conditions, commonly related to oxidation and transformation processes of primary deposits. Such mineral associations are of particular mineralogical interest and relatively uncommon.
