Edingtonite crystals from Ice River, BC, Canada –  micromount as unique piece

This micromount specimen with Edingtonite crystals from Ice River, British Columbia, Canada, presents an aesthetically appealing combination of clear to whitish translucent crystals on a brown matrix. The Edingtonite crystals are well developed, occurring in prismatic to blocky forms that create a dense, sparkling surface.

The crystals are clearly visible and show the typical morphology of Edingtonite with sharp edges and partly translucent appearance. The brown matrix provides a strong color contrast, highlighting the light crystals effectively. Overall, this specimen offers a balanced and highly collectible appearance with fine detail typical for micromount specimens.

Geology & Origin

The Ice River area in British Columbia is known for its alkaline rocks and a wide variety of rare mineral formations, including zeolites such as Edingtonite. These minerals form in cavities through hydrothermal processes, where mineral-rich fluids precipitate crystals within fractures and voids. Edingtonite is a relatively rare barium zeolite mineral and is therefore of particular interest to specialized collectors.

This table is for general information and orientation, although the sizes of the stones may vary. In addition, this specification is handled differently from region to region.
