Geology & Origin
The Clear Creek Mine in California is known for its unusual mercury mineralization and a number of very rare mineral species. Edgarbaileyite is a rare mercury silicate, while Wattersite belongs to the rare mercury-chromium minerals. Both minerals are associated with the distinctive geochemical conditions of the hydrothermally influenced mercury deposits of the Clear Creek area.
