Embedded Eclarite crystals from Bärenbad, Salzburg, Austria – micromount as unique piece
This micromount displays embedded Eclarite crystals on an orange-brown to yellowish-brown matrix. The small crystals are distributed across the surface, forming a finely textured and locally sparkling mineralization. Warm orange, brown and yellow tones characterize this compact unique specimen from Bärenbad in the Austrian state of Salzburg.
Geology & Origin
Eclarite is a rare lead-copper-bismuth sulfide typically found in polymetallic hydrothermal mineralization. The Bärenbad locality in Salzburg is known for complex ore mineralization containing various sulfides and rare associated minerals. Eclarite formed here through hydrothermal processes in which metal-bearing fluids circulated through fractures and mineralized zones in the host rock.
