Dyscrasite xcrystals from Pribram, Czech Republic – micromount as unique piece
This micromount specimen shows Dyscrasite crystals from Příbram, Czech Republic. The piece displays striking metallic crystals with a dark slightly tarnished surface typical of this silver antimony mineral.
The Dyscrasite crystals are very well defined and show a long prismatic partly branching habit. The crystals appear robust and structured, with well developed faces and a characteristic metallic luster. Their partly fan like arrangement gives the specimen a particularly interesting and aesthetic appearance.
Geology & Origin
Dyscrasite is a silver antimony mineral typically found in hydrothermal vein deposits. It forms under specific conditions together with other silver minerals and is considered a classic ore mineral of historic silver deposits.
Příbram in the Czech Republic is a world famous locality for silver minerals. Its historic mines have produced numerous significant finds, including well crystallized Dyscrasite specimens.
