Dioptase crystals and other minerals from Tsumeb, Namibia – micromount as unique piece
This micromount features several intensely emerald-green Dioptase crystals on a light-coloured matrix with additional associated minerals. The transparent to translucent crystals display a brilliant vitreous lustre and stand out beautifully against the pale matrix. The striking colour contrast and the exceptionally well-formed crystals make this compact specimen an attractive collector's piece.
Geology & Origin
The Tsumeb Mine in Namibia is one of the world's most famous mineral localities, renowned for its extraordinary diversity of secondary minerals. Dioptase formed in the oxidation zone of copper-rich ore bodies and commonly occurs together with numerous other mineral species. The combination of vivid colour, excellent crystal quality, and remarkable mineral diversity has made Tsumeb specimens highly sought after by collectors for decades.
