Dickite crystals from Lodeve, France – miniature specimen as unique piece

This miniature specimen shows Dickite crystals from Lodève, France. The piece displays an attractive drusy surface with numerous well developed crystals of this rare clay mineral.

The Dickite crystals appear in light cream to slightly yellowish tones and form dense platy to tabular aggregates. In some areas, small well defined crystal faces are visible, giving the specimen a delicate sparkle. The crystals are set on a contrasting matrix with quartz rich components, enhancing the overall structure. The crystalline character is clearly visible and creates a lively and detailed surface.

Geology & Origin

Dickite belongs to the kaolinite group and typically forms through hydrothermal alteration of aluminosilicates at relatively higher temperatures within this mineral group.

The Lodève region in southern France is known for its diverse hydrothermal mineralization and regularly produces interesting and aesthetic specimens, including well developed Dickite crystals.
