Embedded Denisovite crystals from Evesloggtschorr, Kola, Russia – miniature specimen as unique piece

This small cabinet specimen features embedded Denisovite crystals from Evesloggtschorr on the Kola Peninsula, Russia. The specimen presents an elongated, platy structure characterized by silvery gray to darker shimmering areas. The surface appears layered and finely lamellar, creating a lively play of light reflections.

The Denisovite crystals are recognizable as embedded, elongated to fibrous crystal sections that run parallel through the matrix. They show a silky to slightly metallic luster and give the specimen a distinctive, well structured appearance with clearly visible crystal character.

Geology & Origin

Denisovite is a rare silicate mineral found in complex alkaline rock formations. It forms under specific geochemical conditions typically associated with highly differentiated magmatic systems.

The Kola Peninsula is one of the world’s most important regions for rare minerals and is well known for its exceptionally diverse alkaline intrusions. Localities such as Evesloggtschorr regularly yield rare and scientifically significant mineral species, often with unusual crystal development.
